Electricians, Trades Assistants and Maintenance Workers - this could be for you.

Hays Trades & Labour is partnering with a well-established specialist service provider operating across commercial, industrial and residential facilities throughout Tasmania.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Fire Tester Technician to join their Hobart-based team.

This is an excellent prospect for someone with an electrical background, Trades Assistant experience or maintenance experience who is looking to learn a specialised skill, gain industry training and build a long-term career within the fire protection industry.

Your new role

Working alongside an experienced Senior Fire Technician, you will assist with the testing, inspection and maintenance of fire detection systems across a range of client sites.

This hands-on role is well suited to someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and working across different sites.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting with the testing, inspection and maintenance of fire alarm and detection systems
- Conducting routine checks of heat detectors and related equipment
- Using hand tools and specialised testing equipment on site
- Completing inspection records and basic compliance documentation
- Assisting with equipment set-up and general site preparation
- Travelling to various commercial and industrial sites with an experienced technician
- Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

What you'll need to succeed





Previous experience in electrical, maintenance, testing, construction or fire services environments

- To be successful, you'll need:

- Current Driver's Licence
- Working at Heights ticket, or willingness to obtain one
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to safely use a range of hand and power tools

- Ability to work safely in a range of environments
- Ability to pass a National Police Check
