BOOM is seeking an experienced Business Manager – Infrastructure (QLD) to lead BOOM's Queensland infrastructure operations and customer portfolio. This is a senior operational role with accountability for safety, people, service delivery, asset and labour utilisation, financial performance and sustainable business growth.

Reporting to the National Infrastructure and Regional Manager (NSW) and working closely with BOOM's operational and functional teams, you will translate business objectives into disciplined day-to-day execution while building solid, long-term relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide visible safety leadership and ensure operations are delivered in accordance with BOOM's HSEQ requirements, customer standards and applicable legislation.

- Manage the delivery of existing infrastructure projects across the business, while supporting the growth and development of the Queensland infrastructure business.

- Lead the day-to-day delivery of Queensland infrastructure operations, including labour planning, rostering, crane and equipment allocation, maintenance coordination and mobilisation requirements.

- Drive asset and workforce utilisation, productivity and cost control while managing overtime, fatigue and operational risk.

- Own business performance against budget, forecast and agreed KPIs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.





- Protect revenue and margin through solid commercial discipline, accurate job capture, timely invoicing, cost management and contract compliance.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and proactively identify opportunities to retain, expand and grow BOOM's infrastructure work.

- Support tenders, pricing, contract negotiations and mobilisation of new work in partnership with Commercial, Sales and operational stakeholders.

- Lead, coach and develop supervisors and operational teams, setting clear expectations for performance, accountability and workplace standards.

- Work constructively with HR on workforce planning, performance, employee relations and industrial relations matters.

- Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, HSEQ, Finance, HR and other functions to deliver secure and reliable customer outcomes.

About You

- Proven operational or business management experience within crane hire, lifting, heavy industrial services, infrastructure, construction, resources or a related environment.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets, forecasts, margins, costs and operational KPIs.

- Demonstrated ability to lead a blue-collar workforce in a safety-critical operating environment.

- Strong customer relationship and business development capability, with experience managing major accounts and contractual service requirements.





- Sound understanding of workforce planning, asset utilisation, maintenance interfaces and operational scheduling.

- Experience working in an industrial relations workplace, including managing unionised workforces, will be highly regarded.

- Confident leadership style with the ability to set clear direction, solve problems, manage competing priorities and hold teams accountable.

- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Relevant tertiary, trade or operational qualifications are desirable; practical industry experience will be highly valued.
