About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Estimator to join an established and growing new home builder based in Nowra.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys working across a high volume of residential projects and is looking to take the next step in their career.
Working closely with the wider construction and sales teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate residential estimates, reviewing plans and specifications, assessing project requirements and ensuring costs are carefully managed from the early stages of the build.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for new residential homes
- Estimate a high volume of residential projects across a range of house designs
- Review architectural drawings, plans, specifications and engineering documentation
- Complete detailed take-offs and assess materials, labour and construction costs
- Prepare accurate pricing and quotations
- Liaise with suppliers and trades to obtain current pricing
- Review project variations and ensure costs are accurately captured
- Identify potential cost issues and provide practical solutions
- Work closely with sales, construction and administration teams
- Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
- Assist with continually improving estimating processes and systems
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in residential estimating
- Strong high-volume residential estimating experience is essential
- Experience with recent home construction is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials and costs
- Ability to confidently interpret architectural plans and specifications
- Strong knowledge of residential construction processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, suppliers and trades
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple projects at once
- Strong computer and estimating system skills
