About the role

The Administration & Customer Service Officer provides high-quality administrative support and exceptional customer service to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of The Flooring Shop. This role supports sales, scheduling, supplier coordination, and customer communication, contributing directly to the company's professional image and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

- Greet and assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email in a friendly, professional manner

- Provide accurate product information, pricing, and availability

- Schedule appointments with customers and sales team

- Support customers through the quotation, order, and installation process

- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence

- Prepare and issue quotes, invoices, and receipts using the business's software systems

- Maintain accurate and organised records of sales, inventory, and supplier orders

- Schedule installations and liaise with installers, ensuring smooth workflow and communication





- Update and maintain the customer and supplier database (CRM system)

- Follow up on customer quotes and potential leads to convert sales

About you

- Previous experience in administration and/or customer service roles

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Robust organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite

- Confidence working with point-of-sale or quoting software

- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a technically detailed environment

- Professional, positive, and proactive 'can do' attitude

- Experience in the flooring, construction, or home improvement industry (desirable)

- Familiarity with Xero, or similar accounting software (desirable)

- Basic knowledge of social media and marketing tools (desirable)
