About the role

Bayside is currently seeking qualified and experienced team members to undertake a Town Centre Uplift and Upkeep Program focussed on beautifying the many town centres throughout our LGA.

We’re looking for one (1) Team Leader and five (5) Senior Operations Technicians who take pride in presentation and can undertake all activities associated with cleansing, landscaping and horticulture to ensure that our town centres exceed the expectations of our residents and visitors.

These roles will be responsible for conducting a wide range of tasks and activities during the ‘uplift’ and as part of an ongoing enhanced service program to visually enhance the presentation of Bayside’s town centres. They will be based out of any of our depot locations.

You will need to undertake the following:

Cleansing & General Maintenance:

- Collecting litter including cigarette butts, rubbish and removing posters.

- High pressure washing of footpaths and other Council assets

- Handwashing of town centre assets like bin enclosures, bollards, street signs

- Conducting minor repairs of street furniture and other council assets

- “Making safe” of minor footpath trip hazards

- Installing educational signage

- Actively report damaged assets and public amenity issues observed using a Council approved system on a handheld device

Horticultural:

- Watering plants, shrubs, trees, and garden beds

- Weeding garden beds and paved areas

- Mulching garden beds

- Pruning, trimming, shaping shrubs and hedges and applying herbicides, pesticides, or fertilisers in accordance with safety requirements

- Deadheading flowers and removing diseased plant material and replacing dead or damaged plants

Essential Requirements:

- Demonstrated experience within a relevant field.

- A SafeWork NSW white card (general construction induction card).

- Valid C Class Driver’s Licence

- Horticulture qualifications or other relevant trade or operational qualifications

Salary, Team Leader: From $1,682 pw to $1,884 pw + super

Salary, Senior Operations Technician: From $1,407 pw to $1,576 pw + super
