Spartan Projects specialises in high-end residential building across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter Region, delivering quality renovations, extensions and architectural new builds.

We’re currently looking for an experienced Carpenter / Leading Hand to join our team — someone confident in their trade, capable of leading jobs and teams, and wanting to grow within a well-respected residential building company.

About The Role

This is not just another carpentry role.

We are looking for someone who can confidently lead projects and teams, uphold high standards, communicate professionally with clients and trades, and take ownership of the work they deliver.

You will be involved in a range of high-quality residential projects including:

- Architectural new builds

- Renovations & extensions

- Bathrooms & kitchens

- Decks & outdoor spaces

- Granny flats & secondary dwellings

You’ll work closely with our leadership team while helping guide apprentices, carpenters and subcontractors on site.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with solid trade knowledge, leadership qualities and the right attitude.

Essential:





- Minimum 10 years industry experience

- Cert III in Carpentry

- Strong ability to run jobs and coordinate trades

- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

- Reliable, organised and proactive

Highly Regarded:

- Cert IV Building & Construction

- Experience running residential projects independently

- Leadership or mentoring experience
