About the role
Wintringham’s Home Support team is seeking experienced and flexible Care and Support Workers to join our team. This role supports clients in their homes across Geelong, Lara, Corio and Portarlington. Reporting to the Support Services Coordinator responsibilities include:
- Personal Care: showering, oral care and continence management.
- Medication Assistance: Administering and monitoring medications, assisting with dressings and basic observations.
- Food Preparation: preparing, cooking and serving of meals.
- Community Support: escorting our clients on community outings e.g. shopping trips, excursions, lunches, appointments.
- Transport: escorting our clients to medical and allied health appointments, hospital visits and respite care.
- Domestic Support: cleaning, tidying, changing bedding to ensure a safe, clean and sanitized environment for our client.
What are we looking for?
- Completed or studying Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
- Current Level 2 First Aid certificate.
- Current driver’s licence and a reliable insured car to travel and transport clients as required.
- A kind, respectful and non-judgemental approach to supporting older people.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to encourage clients.
- Able to work independently and in a team, with experience or knowledge in aged care, personal care, household tasks and aged homelessness.
What we offer
- Employment type: Permanent part-time role. Weekend and weekday flexible shifts, with a minimum of 20 hours/fortnight depending on your availability.
- Pay: $38.71 to $43.89 per hour,
plus super (depending on your qualifications and experience). You will also receive generous kilometre reimbursement and be paid your hourly rate while travelling between clients. Above Award pay and not-for-profit salary packaging benefits of up to $18,500 each year.
- Location: North Western Office - Flemington – surrounding suburbs of Mooroolbark, Kilsyth, Boronia and Lilydale.
