28 Mason is a busy, modern local café focused on quality coffee, great food and friendly customer service. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Barista to join our team and help deliver an excellent experience to every customer.

About the Role

As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages while providing friendly, efficient and skilled customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare high-quality espresso coffee, including coffees such as latte, cappuccino, flat white, long black and piccolo.
Maintain consistency in coffee quality, presentation and taste.
Operate and maintain the espresso machine, grinder and other coffee equipment.
Grind, dose and extract coffee correctly and adjust the grinder throughout service.
Prepare alternative milk coffees and other hot and cold beverages.
Take customer orders accurately and process payments.
Provide friendly and welcoming customer service. - Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic coffee station.
Restock coffee, milk, cups and other supplies as required.
Follow food safety and workplace hygiene standards.
Assist the FOH team when required.



- Complete opening and closing duties to a high standard.
Work efficiently and calmly during busy café service.
Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For
Previous barista experience in a busy café workplace.
Solid knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso extraction.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Positive, reliable and friendly attitude.
Well-presented and professional.
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Weekend availability is highly desirable.

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
