Role Description The Teaching Assistant is responsible for supporting classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons and maintaining an inclusive learning environment. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with lesson preparation, providing small-group and one-on-one support, supervising students during class and transitions, and helping manage classroom resources and materials. The role also involves reinforcing learning in subjects such as mathematics, supporting student wellbeing,



and promoting positive behaviour in line with College policies and values.

This is a contract, in office role based at Islamic College of Melbourne in Hoppers Crossing, VIC, requiring active collaboration with teachers, students, and families.

Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Assistant Teaching and Education, with experience supporting classroom instruction and learning activities.
Robust Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and families.
Competence in Mathematics, with the ability to support students’ numeracy learning across different year levels.
Experience Working With Children, including an understanding of child safety principles and holding or being eligible for a valid Working With Children Check (VIC).
Relevant qualification or progress toward a qualification in education, teaching assistance, or a related field.
Ability to support diverse learners in a multicultural environment and uphold the College’s values and ethos.
Organisational skills, reliability, and a professional approach to classroom duties and student supervision.
