Mechanical Drafter, South-East Suburbs of Melbourne | Temporary assignment Y our new company An established manufacturer based in Melbourne's south-east is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its engineering team on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and updating engineering drawings, managing bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting continuous product improvement initiatives.

Your new role
Update and maintain 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software
Create and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Manage engineering change requests and drawing revisions
Maintain engineering documentation and product data
Support manufacturing and production teams with technical documentation
Ensure drawings and BOMs accurately reflect current product configurations
Assist with continuous improvement and product enhancement projects
Liaise with internal stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and service departments

What you'll need to succeed
Experience in a Mechanical Designer, Mechanical Drafter,



CAD Designer, or similar role
Proficiency in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar
Solid understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
High level of attention to detail and document control discipline
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Robust communication and teamwork skills
