Our client is committed to maintaining some of Mackay's most well-known parks, gardens and recreational spaces. They take pride in creating safe, attractive and welcoming community spaces that are enjoyed by residents and visitors year-round

Your recent role

We are currently seeking a Parks Maintenance Labourer to join a dedicated team maintaining the Mackay Botanic Gardens and Queens Park. This temporary role offers consistent full-time hours and will see you working in a hands-on outdoor environment.

Your duties will include
Mowing and whipper snipping
Hedging and pruning
Blowing down pathways and public areas
Watering, planting and mulching garden beds
Litter collection and general grounds maintenance
Assisting with event setup and pack down
Liaising with volunteers and members of the public
Maintaining the presentation of gardens, parks and open spaces
Operating gardening equipment and maintenance tools





What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, gardening or a similar outdoor role
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to workplace health and safety
