From processing new starters and terminations through to reconciliations, reporting and resolving payroll enquiries, you'll play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.It's a varied role that combines hands-on payroll processing with compliance, customer service and opportunities to improve the way payroll services are delivered.About the PersonYou're an experienced Payroll Officer who understands the importance of getting the detail right.
You're confident navigating payroll systems, interpreting relevant legislation and agreements, and responding to payroll queries with professionalism and care.You'll be a strong communicator and team player who can manage competing deadlines, identify discrepancies and confidently work through issues.
You'll also bring a continuous improvement mindset and enjoy looking for ways to make payroll processes more productive and effective.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll for approximately 1,500 employeesProcess new starters, terminations and final paymentsComplete timesheet and leave reconciliations accurately and within required deadlinesInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepanciesRespond to payroll enquiries and provide timely updates to employeesMaintain accurate, confidential and accessible payroll recordsAssist with end-of-month payroll procedures, payments and reportingSupport end-of-financial-year and FBT payroll processes and reportingComplete payroll-related audits and reconciliations across systemsApply relevant legislation, awards, Enterprise Agreements, policies and proceduresProvide advice regarding superannuation, salary sacrifice and employee contributionsIdentify opportunities to improve payroll processes, systems and service deliverySkills, Knowledge and ExperiencePrevious experience in an end-to-end payroll roleWorking knowledge of Chris21 or another payroll systemKnowledge of FBT, workers compensation, superannuation and payroll tax legislationUnderstanding of awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll governanceStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience working in a customer service environmentHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to manage deadlines and competing prioritiesA collaborative, proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvementFor more information please contact Elena Bacon on .
