The business is seeking a commercially minded Junior Category Manager to take ownership of assigned product categories and drive range, sales and profitability.
The Role
Working closely with Purchasing, Marketing, Logistics and Finance, you will take ownership of assigned categories across the full product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage and develop assigned product categories and rangesIdentify current product and range expansion opportunitiesSource products and manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturersNegotiate pricing, trading terms and supplier agreementsMonitor sales, margins, inventory levels and overall category performanceConduct competitor, pricing and market analysisManage open orders, stock availability and product demandSupport pricing,



promotional activity and product launchesWork closely with Marketing to optimise product listings and promotionsAnalyse costs including freight, warehousing and other factors impacting profitability
Your Background
Experience within Category Management, Buying, Merchandise or a similar commercial roleExperience within eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environments highly regardedExposure to managing or supporting a product range/categoryStrong commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing, margins and profitabilityConfident working with suppliers and negotiating commercial outcomesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityAdvanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTablesComfortable working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
