We are seeking a hands‐on Lead Data Engineer to lead the delivery of a large‐scale Azure data platform within a major financial services environment.This role combines technical leadership, people management and stakeholder engagement.
You will manage and mentor Data Engineers while remaining involved in architecture, coding standards, design reviews and complex technical decisions.Key responsibilitiesLead, mentor and develop a Data Engineering teamOwn the design and delivery of enterprise data platformsBuild scalable pipelines, data models, warehouses and lakehouse solutionsManage stakeholders across business and technology teamsDrive engineering standards across coding, CI/CD, governance and performanceEnsure platforms are secure,



reliable and cost‐efficientKey experienceStrong Data Engineering leadership and team management experienceHands‐on expertise in SQL, Python and PySparkStrong Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse experienceExperience with Azure Databricks, ADLS and Delta LakeKnowledge of Microsoft FabricStrong data modelling and data warehousing knowledgeExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience in financial services, Azure certifications, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, APIs, Azure Functions, Docker or Kubernetes would be advantageous.This is a permanent prospect offering $180,000 base plus super, working onsite within a major Melbourne organisation.
