With a practical and team-oriented culture, employees are encouraged to take ownership, challenge the status quo and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable organisation while being part of a finance function that is continuing to develop and improve.About the PositionThe Financial Accountant will take responsibility for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the accuracy and timeliness of the organisation's financial information.With exposure across month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory requirements, payroll accounting, forecasting and financial reporting, this role offers variety and the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business.You will also play an active role in identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems, making this an ideal position for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on and wants to have a tangible impact beyond the numbers.DutiesManage the month-end close process and coordinate key reporting deadlinesComplete and review balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts and overheadsOversee the integrity of the general ledger,



chart of accounts and associated master dataMaintain the fixed asset register and ensure accounting records remain accurate and up to datePrepare monthly IAS and BAS obligations across the relevant entitiesCoordinate the annual FBT return and assist with other statutory requirementsProcess monthly payroll journals, accruals and associated accounting entriesAssist with monthly and annual financial statement preparationPartner with managers on budgeting, forecasting and monitoring business performanceAnalyse costs and financial information, highlighting potential risks and opportunitiesWork with external auditors, financial institutions and other regulatory stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve systemsProvide support across the wider Finance function and contribute to ad hoc projectsAbout YouYou will be an experienced Financial Accountant who enjoys variety and is comfortable working across both the detail and the broader commercial picture.This role will suit someone who is naturally curious, takes accountability for their work and enjoys working with people outside of Finance.
You'll be confident managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.You will have:CA or CPA qualificationPrevious experience in a Financial Accountant or comparable accounting positionIndustry experience, with manufacturing or FMCG experience highly regardedStrong technical accounting knowledge and an understanding of month-end processesExperience across reconciliations, financial reporting and statutory complianceStrong Excel capability and confidence working across accounting systemsSAP Business One experience would be advantageous, although not essentialExcellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholdersA practical, proactive approach and willingness to get involved across the businessAn interest in improving processes, systems and ways of working
