Full-Time Draftsman – Renovations & Extensions

An experienced and motivated Draftsman is required to join the team on a full-time basis, working primarily on residential renovations, extensions and alterations.
This is an chance to join a growing building business and work closely with the builder and site team to produce practical, accurate and buildable drawings for a variety of residential projects.
Key responsibilities
Preparing drawings for residential renovations and extensions
Existing and proposed floor plans
House extensions and alterations
Internal renovations and layout changes
Basic site plans and site layouts
Elevations and construction drawings
Basic construction details
Drafting from site measurements, sketches and builder instructions
Preparing plans for building approval and project documentation
Updating and amending drawings as projects develop
Liaising with the builder and site team to ensure drawings are practical and buildable




About you
Previous experience in residential drafting
Experience with renovations and extensions
A good understanding of residential construction
Strong attention to detail
Ability to interpret site measurements and sketches
Ability to produce accurate, professional and easy-to-read drawings
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Competency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar drafting software
Knowledge of Queensland residential construction requirements and approval processes will be highly regarded
Stable and ongoing workload
Variety of residential renovation and extension projects
Direct involvement with the builder and construction team
