About the role
We're seeking a Session Leader to join our MarionDonor Centre.
Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you'll provide day-to-day operational leadership and oversight, ensuring the end-to-end donation experience runs smoothly, safely and to a high standard.
In this role, you'll help drive operational excellence, support and develop your team, and create an exceptional experience for donors.
You'll understand how your team contributes to broader business goals and confidently turn strategy into clear actions that support strong operational and customer outcomes.
You'll provide direction, encouragement and support to build an effective team culture, while managing challenging situations with respect and empathy.
A day in the centre could see you:
Lead the end-to-end donor journey with a focus on safety, quality and efficiencyCoach, engage and develop your team to perform at their bestSupport the team to achieve operational, growth and customer experience goalsBuild and maintain a strong, collaborative and positive team cultureDeliver a safe, seamless and positive experience for donorsInsert and remove needles to collect donations, with training providedAct as the first point of contact for complex donor assessmentsUse data,



insights and team feedback to identify improvement opportunitiesMaintain Lifeblood's high standards for safety and quality

Leadership experience in a supervisory or management roleThe ability to engage, motivate, coach and develop teamsExperience giving constructive feedback and helping people reach their potentialConfidence translating business strategy into clear team goals and actionsA focus on operational excellence, continuous improvement and robust customer outcomesExperience in change management and supporting teams through changeThe ability to lead teams to achieve operational and growth targetsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine connections with donors and colleaguesA collaborative approach and strong sense of teamworkDigital and technical confidence, including the ability to use data and insights to guide decisionsConfidence managing challenging situations and making decisions in a fast-paced environmentClinical experience is desirable but not essentialFlexibility to work 9 shifts per fortnight across a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, with centre operating hours ranging from 7am to 7:30pm
