The Opportunity
We are seeking aSenior, hands-on Solution Engineerto join an urgent Edge infrastructure modernisation program.
The setting is moving toOpenShift across a large distributed footprint, and the team requires an experienced engineer who can come in with minimal ramp-up and contribute immediately to the implementation.
This isnot an OpenShift operations or support role.
The key requirement is proven experience personallybuilding, implementing and automating OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms, rather than simply operating or supporting an existing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and build OpenShift platform capabilities, including configuration, integration and automation.
Develop repeatable deployment and implementation patterns.
Work hands-on acrossLinux, OpenShift/Kubernetes, containers, compute, networking and automation.
Translate technical designs and requirements into working platform solutions.
Build automation for installation, configuration, deployment, upgrades, recovery and operational processes.
Design and implement resilient, automated and self-healing platform capabilities where appropriate.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues across infrastructure, Linux, networking and container platforms.
Build and validate solutions in a lab environment before wider deployment.
Produce practical technical documentation, implementation procedures and runbooks.
Work independently and make sound engineering decisions with minimal handholding.
Proven hands-on experienceimplementing or building Red Hat OpenShift.
Strong Kubernetes and container platform engineering experience.
Strong Linux engineering and command-line troubleshooting capability.
Experience withRHELwill be highly regarded.
Strong automation experience using tools such asAnsible, Terraform, Bash, Shell, Python and CI/CD tooling.
Demonstrated experience building platform capabilities, environments or automation from scratch.




Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple infrastructure layers.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical implementation approaches and engineering decisions.
Essential Experience
Proven hands-on experienceimplementing or building Red Hat OpenShift.
Strong Kubernetes and container platform engineering experience.
Strong Linux engineering and command-line troubleshooting capability.
Experience withRHELwill be highly regarded.

Highly Regarded
OpenShift implementation experience acrosson-premises, hybrid or distributed environments.
Experience implementing automated recovery, self-healing, resilience or self-service platform capabilities.
Deep RHEL/Linux engineering experience across operating system configuration, services, networking and permissions.
Ansible Automation Platformexperience.
Experience working acrossEdge, branch, telco, warehouse, data centre or multi-site infrastructure environments.
Networking experience covering areas such as routing, switching, VLANs, load balancing and physical connectivity.
Ability to join an existing transformation program and become productive quickly.

The team is particularly interested in engineers who can clearly demonstratewhat they have personally built.
Strong candidates will be able to walk through an OpenShift or Kubernetes implementation fromdesign through to build and automation, clearly explaining their individual ownership, technical decisions and how they solved new engineering challenges.
