Oversee daily financial operations, including cash flow management and process implementation to ensure smooth business functioning.
Accounts payable – eg. raise purchase orders, reconciliation of supplier statements, payment of bills.
Accounts receivable – eg. raise invoices
Manage all ATO compliance – BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and EOFY reporting (with support from the external accountant).
Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
Process payroll.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Manage the business's accounts email inbox and respond promptly to all queries.
Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and emails, drafting documents and scheduling meetings (infrequent).
Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with key customers, clients,
and stakeholders to ensure long-term business success.
Skills and attributes
Proven experience in a similar Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, or Accounts role.
Proficiency with accounting software (preferably Xero).
Solid attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Excellent communication and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Strong knowledge of payroll, BAS, GST, and Australian accounting standards.
Qualifications
Certificate IV, Diploma, or higher in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (desirable).
