Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to expand your career into Human Resources? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Support Officer to join our team.

This role is ideally suited to someone with demonstrated payroll experience who is currently studying Human Resources or a recent HR graduate. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while gaining valuable hands‑on experience across a broad range of human resource functions.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly payroll (100+ employees) and supporting key HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management and performance review coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll
End-to-end processing of weekly payroll for 100+ employees
Monthly Reporting including Payroll Tax & Coal Long Service Leave
Interpretation and application of awards, individual flexibility agreements, enterprise agreement and payroll legislation




Maintaining payroll compliance and confidentiality at all times

Human Resources
Coordinating employee onboarding and offboarding processes
Assisting with recruitment activities including drafting job advertisement, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks
Coordinating staff performance review processes
Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records

About You
Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
High level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
Solid communication and organisational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Currently studying, or have completed, a qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
Experience within manufacturing, industrial or blue-collar environments
Exposure to HR administration, recruitment and/or employee lifecycle activities
