We are supporting a hiring of a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer for a long-term, embedded engagement with a leading enterprise client in Sydney, Australia.

This hands-on, client-facing role will focus on enterprise data modelling, data architecture and Databricks engineering. You will partner with Finance, HR, Risk and Compliance teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design scalable enterprise data models and lakehouse architectures
Build production-grade data pipelines using SQL, Python/PySpark and Databricks
Implement data governance, security and access controls through Unity Catalog
Work directly with business stakeholders to understand and prioritise requirements
Establish data-quality, modelling and engineering standards
Take ownership of delivery in a quick-moving, autonomous environment

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering,



Data Science or a related discipline
Databricks Professional certification: Preferred
Solid experience in enterprise data architecture, data engineering and advanced data modelling
Hands‑on expertise in Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Databricks Workflows
Production experience with SQL, Python/PySpark and dbt and/or Spark Declarative Pipelines
Solid understanding of data governance, security and access‑control design
Excellent stakeholder‑management and business‑communication skills
Ability to explain architectural decisions and trade‑offs in platform‑agnostic terms

Experience with Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles, GitHub Actions, SailPoint/Okta, BI tools or financial‑services data would be advantageous.
