TITLE

Position Title: Cook

/n Description: Prepares, seasons and cooks' food in a dining or catering establishment.

/n
ENGLISH LANGUAGE

/n

This position requires a high level of proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with staff, suppliers, and customers.

FULL-TIME POSITION ONLY

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Jugiong, NSW.

/n
OCCUPATION TASKS

/n

Tasks Include:

/n

Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

/n

Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

/n

Preparing and cooking food

/n

Seasoning food during cooking

/n

Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies,



sauces and garnishes

/n

Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

/n

Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

/n

May plan menus and estimate food requirements

/n

May train other kitchen staff and apprentices

/n

Prepares, seasons and cooks' food in a dining or catering establishment.

/n
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

/n

Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen or similar workplace.

/n

Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and up-to-date cooking methods.

/n

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

/n

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality and consistency.

/n

Understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations.

/n

Ability to manage time efficiently and work under pressure during busy service periods.

QUALIFICATIONS

/n
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; OR

/n • At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.

/n • Additional on-the-job training or relevant culinary certifications may be required.
