Data Science & AI Engineering Manager
to join a large, well-known retail organisation and lead a multidisciplinary team delivering enterprise-scale Data and AI solutions. Leading a team of approximately
20 people
, you'll bring strong technical leadership across
AI/ML, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering and DevOps
, while ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value.
What you'll be doing
Lead a multidisciplinary team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers and QA specialists.
Own the successful delivery of AI, machine learning and data solutions across scope, budget, quality and timelines.
Provide technical leadership across the design and development of scalable, production-ready AI/ML and data platforms.
Partner closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate business problems into practical Data & AI solutions.
Establish and uplift engineering standards across software development, data engineering and ML model development.
Drive modern
DevOps, CI/CD, automation, testing and QA practices
to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Ensure production AI and data solutions are secure, reliable, well-governed and meeting agreed SLAs.
Build a strong engineering culture focused on experimentation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Mentor and develop team members,



creating clear career pathways and building future technical leaders.
Stay across emerging AI and data technologies and help shape the organisation's future technology roadmap.
What we're looking for
Proven experience leading a
large, multidisciplinary technical team
, ideally *****+ people.
Strong technical background spanning
AI/ML, Data Science, Data Engineering and Software Engineering
.
Strong understanding of
DevOps, CI/CD and modern engineering practices
.
Experience delivering complex AI and data solutions into production within a large enterprise environment.
Demonstrated ability to balance
technical leadership, people leadership and delivery management
.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across Product, Technology and senior business stakeholders.
Experience building high-performing teams and developing engineering capability.
Retail or similarly large-scale, data-rich enterprise experience would be highly regarded.
