Trade Assistant
to join our team based in
Paget, Mackay QLD.
About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Trade Assistant plays a key role in supporting tradespeople across multiple departments including Electrical, Mechanical, Fabrication, and Gearbox. You will assist with maintenance, repairs, and general workshop duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Longwall facility.
Key Responsibilities
Assist tradespeople with allocated tasks across various departments
Perform general labouring, including manual handling of materials (up to 15kg)
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment (where licensed)
Carry out general duties including steam/high-pressure water cleaning and painting
Maintain workshop cleanliness and general facility upkeep
Handle materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
Able to work in a team environment and the ability to work autonomously
Work in accordance with Safe Work Instructions and Operating Procedures




Maintain a strong commitment to WH&S; and environmental standards
Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
About You
Previous experience as a Trade Assistant or General Labourer
Experience operating a forklift (highly regarded)
Current Driver's Licence (essential)
High-Risk Forklift Licence and/or Riggers Ticket (advantageous)
Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment
Positive communication skills and attention to detail
Reliable, adaptable, and safety-focused
Committed to maintaining a clean and organised workspace
