We are seeking an
Accounting Assistant
to join the team at TAXLAB ACCOUNTING in Hoppers Crossing, VIC. This is a
full-time position
offering the perfect opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accounting and develop practical experience in a professional environment.
In this role, you will provide essential support to our accounting team, assisting with a variety of day-to-day functions. You will work closely with senior accountants and contribute to the smooth operation of our office, gaining valuable exposure to different areas of accounting practice. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow within the accounting profession.
What you'll be doing
Completing Income tax returns and financial accounts, Business Activity Statements, and Instalment Activity Statements.
Data entry and reconciliation of accounts using accounting software
Preparation of Financial reports, payroll processing, payday super and TPAR
Assist clients with accounting, taxation, general business support matters and administrative duties as required
Answering client enquiries and providing administrative support to the accounting team
Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies, responding to queries
Supporting the team with tax and compliance-related administrative tasks
What we're looking for
A qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, XERO and MYOB
At least three years of practical experience




Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Professional communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information appropriately
Reliability, punctuality and a willingness to learn and develop your accounting knowledge
