This is a predominantly face-to-face, relationship-based role, where you will work directly with participants, families, and support teams in real-world settings. Depending on your experience and practitioner level, you will work collaboratively with participants, families, and support staff, ensuring supports are practical and meaningful, to develop plans and produce assessments, conduct assessments, observations, and interviews to support functional analysis, develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans, collect and use data to inform decision-making and reviews, work within NDIS Commission requirements including restrictive practices where applicable, and provide hands‐on implementation support and training to frontline staff.
Key responsibilities
Work collaboratively with participants, families, and support staff, ensuring supports are practical and meaningful
Work collaboratively with lead practitioners to develop plans and produce assessments
Conduct assessments, observations, and interviews to support functional analysis
Develop Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans and Functional Behavioural Assessments
Collect and use data to inform decision-making and reviews
Work within NDIS Commission requirements, including restrictive practices where applicable
Provide hands-on implementation support and training to frontline staff
Undertake all administrative tasks to ensure accurate records and quality of support including risk assessments, regular goal reviews and supportability data collection
Identify and resolve issues that may arise during service delivery, address participant/carer complaints,



and implement solutions to maintain service quality
About you
Minimum Bachelors Degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis, or Allied Health (Social Work, Teaching, Nursing, Health Sciences, Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy)
Endorsement and suitability as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner, with an NDIS Practitioner ID Number – Core, Proficient, Advanced, or Specialist is required
A minimum of 12 months hands on working experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
Demonstrated experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with and providing clinical intervention to children, youth and adults with challenging behaviours
Demonstrated experience and relevant knowledge of complex client groups, including people with an intellectual disability, mental health, offending behaviour, dual disability, substance use and other behaviours of concern
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including conducting comprehensive assessments and writing reports
An understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and how it underpins service delivery
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to use initiative along with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as a team with a range of stakeholders in a cooperative approach
