Hourly Rate $37 per hour, casual engagement with work offered on an ad hoc, as‐needed basis.

About the role
n
As a Casual Student Services Assistant, you'll be an important first point of contact for students, staff and visitors at RMIT University Pathways (RMIT UP).
n
You'll provide friendly, professional and responsive customer service across our front‐of‐house operations.
n
You'll respond to student enquiries in person, by phone, email and through our Student Management Platform, providing accurate information and connecting students with the right services and support when needed.
n
You'll also assist students with routine forms, appointments and navigating relevant systems and resources.
n
When things are quieter at reception, you'll support the Student Services team with routine administration, data entry and maintaining accurate student records.
n
You'll work closely with colleagues across Student Services to help create a welcoming, inclusive and positive experience for our students.
n
This is a casual opportunity that would suit someone who enjoys working with people, is organised and reliable,
and can adapt to the changing needs of a busy student‐facing environment.

About You
n
You're a friendly, approachable and service‐focused person who enjoys helping others and creating positive experiences.
n
You'll be confident communicating with people from diverse cultural, linguistic and educational backgrounds and know when an enquiry can be handled directly and when it needs to be referred or escalated.
n
You'll bring:

Strong verbal and written communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
n
A genuine commitment to providing high‐quality customer service.
n
Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage routine tasks accurately.
n
The ability to learn recent systems, processes and procedures with training and support.
n
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email and online systems.
n
The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment.
n
An understanding of the importance of privacy, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
n
Reliability, punctuality and flexibility to support changing student and front‐of‐house needs.
n
A current Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one before commencing.
n
Previous experience in customer service, reception, hospitality, retail or another people‐facing environment would be highly regarded.
n
Experience working or studying in an education or multicultural environment would also be an advantage.
