What we are looking for
We are not simply looking for someone to load and unload a CNC machine. We are looking for a machinist who can think through the manufacturing & design process, set the machine up, produce the component and verify that it meets the required specification.
About You & Essential for this Role
MEM***** Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, preferably Machining/Fitting-Machining, or equivalent recognised trade qualification
2+ years' CNC machining experience
CNC machine setup experience
CNC milling and/or turning experience
SolidWorks competency
Fusion 360 competency
Manual lathe competency
Vertical mill competency
Ability to read engineering drawings
Ability to work to tight dimensional tolerances
Competent with precision measuring equipment
Understanding of tooling, feeds,



speeds and machining processes
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Highly desirable
Experience with both CNC milling and CNC turning
Fusion 360 CAM experience
Experience machining aluminium and stainless steel
Motorsport/automotive/performance industry experience
Experience with low-volume/high-mix production
Experience manufacturing components from 3D CAD models
Experience with GD&T;
Experience with CMM or other advanced inspection equipment
Experience with probing/tool setters
Experience designing/producing jigs and fixtures
Advantageous
Mastercam/other CAM experience
Experience with 4th-axis machining
Experience with live tooling/Y-axis turning
Experience with CNC probing
Experience with complex 3D machining
Experience with production optimisation
CNC machine maintenance/troubleshooting
Programming experience beyond basic machine operation
