Lead the recruitment, development, and management of Perth Redbacks coaches and players across WABL, State Championships & development programs. This role ensures consistent frameworks for performance, aligns pathways to higher-level programs (including NBL1), and oversees quality and consistency in all performance basketball activities.
Key responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for WABL and State Championship coaching staff to ensure alignment with association standards
Manage the association's coaching framework, ensuring a structured pathway for upskilling and career development for all personnel
Facilitate a regular calendar of educational opportunities and mentorship programs to foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence
Monitor coaching performance through formal reviews and data-driven feedback mechanisms to ensure program quality and long-term retention
Manage the recruitment and selection processes for representative programs, ensuring transparency and qualified communication with stakeholders
Oversee the implementation of player development frameworks, utilizing standardized monitoring tools to track skill progression and retention




Administer high-level player development programs to provide a structured and competitive pathway for the association's most talented athletes
Lead the integration of junior talent into senior pathways, ensuring a clear and connected transition from WABL programs into the NBL1 environment
Deliver a professionally managed WABL and State Championship program, ensuring all logistics, communications, and administrative milestones are met
Ensure consistency in basketball philosophy, terminology, and processes across all levels of the association to maintain a cohesive performance culture
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Availability: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday evenings for WABL Training & Skills Sessions
Availability: Sunday for WABL Home Game Days
About you
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor coaches and players
Sound knowledge of high-performance basketball systems and talent identification
Ability to develop and implement structured frameworks and annual strategic plans
Excellent conflict resolution and stakeholder communication abilities
High attention to detail in program administration and compliance
