About the Role
La Porchetta Colac is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of menu items, maintain consistent quality and portioning, and support productive day-to-day kitchen operations during busy service periods. Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a range of menu items in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment during food preparation
Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and quality
Season food during cooking to maintain consistent taste and presentation
Portion and plate meals in accordance with restaurant standards




Prepare food to meet dietary requirements and customer requests where required
Store food and ingredients appropriately in temperature-controlled areas
Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment and storage areas
Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to support smooth service operations
Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Candidate Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline
Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
Experience working in a busy restaurant or casual dining environment
Strong understanding of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
Ability to maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
