Position: Retail Manager Position Type : Full time Salary: $90,000 plus superannuation per annum Location: New Farm QLD **** Our client is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to join their team located in New Farm, Queensland.
The Retail Manager is responsible for managing and controlling the day-to-day operations of retail fish and seafood shop.
The position is responsible for stock management, purchasing, pricing, sales performance, staff supervision, customer service and compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail seafood shop.
Determine seafood product mix, stock levels and customer service standards.
Manage purchasing and ordering of fish, seafood and other retail products from suppliers.
Monitor stock levels, product quality, stock rotation and wastage.
Assist with setting retail prices based on product costs, market conditions and required margins.
Maintain records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.
Monitor daily and weekly sales performance and assist with budgeting for the retail operation.
Plan and implement promotional and marketing activities to increase retail sales.




Manage product displays and ensure seafood products are presented and labelled appropriately.
Recruit, train, roster, supervise and monitor the performance of retail staff.
Maintain high customer service standards and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and company procedures.
Liaise with suppliers and management regarding purchasing, product availability, pricing and operational requirements.
Requirements: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher in relevant field At least three (3) years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in retail management, food retail, seafood retail, hospitality management or a related field.
Experience in staff supervision, rostering and training.
Experience in stock control, purchasing and supplier coordination.
Knowledge of customer service, sales and retail operations.
Understanding food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
