Western Murray Irrigation runs the supply and drainage network that keeps water moving across Buronga, Mourquong, Coomealla and Curlwaa.
They need a Mechanical Officer based out of the Coomealla depot who's happy to get hands-on keeping pump stations and pipelines running.
You'll be doing the scheduled and reactive maintenance on supply and drainage pump stations, watching the condition monitoring systems to plan ahead of problems, and coordinating contractors when jobs need more hands.
When it's a major overhaul, you'll be the one liaising with the outside engineering workshops.
Beyond the pump stations, you will be assisting the team in maintaining pipelines, customer outlets, meters, telemetry, drainage and groundwater monitoring gear across the district.
Buildings, vehicles, tools, and plant are to be maintained in secure working order.
There's a standby roster attached to this one.
When something goes wrong after hours, you're the call.
That's what the on-call allowance and overtime are there for.
What You'll Bring: 2–5 years' operations and maintenance experience, with a genuine mechanical head for pumps,



rotating machinery and pipelines Digital literacy is essential (ability to use day-to-day operational systems/tools such as maintenance management software, Excel/Word/Outlook, and asset monitoring systems) – or quick to get across them A current driver's licence — no exceptions on this one Tickets like White Card, Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Chemical Handling, First Aid/CPR or Traffic Management are a bonus.
