As a Pre-Admission Registered Nurse, you will work in a specialised role focused on pre-procedure patient assessment, clinical screening, and patient preparation. This role is primarily office and telephone based, ensuring patients are protected and appropriately prepared for their upcoming procedures. You will play a vital role in identifying clinical risks, assessing patient suitability against organisational and procedural criteria, coordinating pre-operative requirements, and providing comprehensive patient education and support.
Key responsibilities
Conduct detailed pre-admission assessments via telephone and electronic correspondence.
Review patient medical histories and identify clinical risks, contraindications, and exclusion criteria.
Assess patient suitability for endoscopic procedures in accordance with organisational policies and clinical guidelines.
Escalate complex cases and clinical concerns to anaesthetists, proceduralists, and relevant clinical teams.
Coordinate outstanding pre-operative requirements including specialist clearances, medication management, and health assessments.
Confirm and email patient procedures and scheduling arrangements.
Provide clear procedural preparation instructions and education to patients and carers.




Support patients throughout their pre-procedure journey while delivering exceptional customer service.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical record systems.
Liaise with specialists, GPs, anaesthetists, patients, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure safe procedural outcomes.
About you
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
Bachelor of Nursing.
Minimum 3 years post-registration clinical nursing experience.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Strong clinical assessment and risk identification skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and high patient volumes.
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Current National Police Check.
Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
Ability and willingness to travel between sites when required.
Evidence of required immunisations and vaccination status.
Monday to Friday business hours.
