Junior/Intermediate Accountant - Public Practice
We are a well-established accounting practice based on the Mornington Peninsula and are looking for a
Junior or Intermediate Accountant
to join our friendly and supportive team.
We are open to candidates at different stages of their career – whether you are a recent accounting graduate looking to build your career in public practice, or an Intermediate Accountant with a few years of experience looking for your next opportunity.
This is a great prospect to join a close-knit firm where you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients and accounting work, with plenty of support and opportunities to develop your skills.
About the role
Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities will include:
Preparation of individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns
Preparation of financial statements
Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS
Assisting with tax planning and compliance matters
Working with clients across a broad range of industries
Liaising with the ATO and other external organisations
Maintaining accurate client records and workpapers
Working closely with our accountants, managers and partners
Developing your technical knowledge and client relationship skills as your experience grows
For a junior candidate, we are happy to provide training and support as you develop your public practice skills. For an intermediate candidate, there will be greater responsibility and the opportunity to manage your own workflow and develop stronger client relationships.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:




Have completed or are currently completing a degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
Have public practice experience
or
are a graduate looking to begin your career in public practice
Have strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Are comfortable working as part of a team
Have good written and verbal communication skills
Have a positive attitude and are willing to learn
Can manage deadlines and take ownership of your work
Have experience with
Xero
and other accounting software – desirable, but not essential for junior applicants
For intermediate applicants, previous Australian public practice experience will be highly regarded.
