CNC Router Operator Afternoon Shift (Timber-No Router Experience Necessary)
Hume Doors & Timber is seeking a
CNC Router Operator
to join our manufacturing team in Dandenong South, Victoria on Afternoon Shift *****am to *****pm. This is a
casual position
offering flexibility, full-time after 3 months and the opportunity to develop valuable skills in timber machining. We welcome candidates with little to no CNC router experience, as we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed in this role. You will operate precision computerised machinery to cut and shape timber products according to specifications, playing a key part in our production processes.
Key responsibilities
Operating CNC router machines to cut, shape and finish timber components according to job specifications and technical drawings
Loading and securing timber materials onto the CNC router bed and positioning workpieces accurately
Setting up machine parameters, tools and cutting programs under guidance
Monitoring machine operation to ensure quality output and protected working practices
Inspecting finished products for accuracy, quality and adherence to specifications
Maintaining a clean and organised work area, including basic machine maintenance and tool management
Following all health and safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production targets are met
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and learning from experienced team members
What we're looking for
Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills in CNC router operation




Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor control
Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
Ability to follow instructions and work safely within a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle timber materials
Prior experience in manufacturing, woodworking or related fields is desirable but not essential
