Band 7, Starting salary $106,343 plus superannuation
The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Governance and Risk Advisor to provide expert risk, governance and integrity leadership across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal role in developing organisational capability, supporting effective decision-making, and ensuring systems and processes align with legislative requirements and good governance principles.
You will lead governance programs and provide oversight of internal audit activities, risk management frameworks, integrity processes and governance functions.
In this role, you will also:
Build organisational capability through coaching, training and practical support to leaders and staff
Manage and coordinate the internal audit function and support the Audit and Risk Committee
Prepare insightful reports, briefings and recommendations
Lead secretariat functions for a range of meetings
Oversee integrity management processes including conflicts of interest, Personal Interests Returns and governance registers.
Deliver strategic governance and risk management projects
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Significant knowledge and experience in governance, risk management, integrity or compliance
Demonstrated ability to provide trusted advice with exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Experience leading projects, coordinating stakeholder groups and delivering outcomes while meeting deadlines
A strong understanding of local government and its compliance obligations
A collaborative and proactive approach,



with a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
This role requires a police records check.
