The Role
n
The Environmental Advisor supports the continued operation of Bengalla mine.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Plan and coordinate environmental activities (including environmental monitoring programs).
n
Prepare accurate environmental performance reports as required.
n
Contribute to improving community and government relations by assessing and responding to community complaints and environmental incidents.
n
Engage and direct contractors and consultants as required to assist with environmental management activities.
n
Provide assurance and oversight to the sites environmental compliance.
n




Assist with management and maintenance of Real Time Environmental Monitoring Systems.
n
Engage directly with near neighbours and landholders.
n

Qualifications and experience
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, a related discipline or equivalent qualifications essential.
n
Practical environmental management experience in large scale open cut mines.
n
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
n
Experience in consultant and contractor supervision.
n
Knowledge of NSW environmental regulatory framework.
n
Ability to liaise with the community.
n
High level computer literacy and competency with mapping software e.g. Mapinfo/ArcGIS.
n
Civil construction and previous coal mining experience will be highly regarded.
