We are looking for an experienced Quality, Risk and Compliance Manager to lead our organisation wide approach to quality, risk, compliance, assurance and continuous improvement.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director Finance and Strategy, you will provide organisation-wide leadership and specialist advice across quality, risk, compliance, governance, assurance and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Executive, leaders and teams across UMFC to strengthen organisational capability and ensure our systems support safe, effective and high-quality services.
You will:
lead the development and continuous improvement of organisation-wide risk, quality, assurance and governance frameworks
provide trusted advice to Executive and leaders on complex and emerging risks, compliance obligations and governance matters
lead policy, procedure and document governance, ensuring our systems are current, accessible and fit for purpose
coordinate organisational audit, assurance, accreditation and compliance activities
lead improvement, transformation and assurance projects from planning through to implementation
develop meaningful reporting, dashboards and performance measures that support informed decision-making
oversee incident, feedback and complaints reporting and identify systemic risks and opportunities for improvement
support leaders and teams to understand risk, strengthen controls and embed good practice
develop organisational capability through practical guidance, training, resources and communication
contribute to safeguarding and child-safe compliance monitoring
promote client, family and stakeholder participation in quality improvement




establish and lead UMFC's Quality Squad
champion a proactive culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
Importantly, this role is not about creating compliance for compliance's sake. It is about making our systems work for our people and the communities we serve.
About you
You are an experienced quality, risk, governance, compliance or assurance professional who can see both the big picture and the detail. You bring strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical systems and processes that people can understand and use.
You will ideally bring:
relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management, governance, quality, business, project management, compliance or a related discipline
significant experience designing and improving organisation-wide quality, risk, governance, compliance or assurance frameworks
experience preparing organisations for accreditation, certification or regulatory audits
knowledge of contemporary risk and governance frameworks, including ISO *****, ISO *****, ISO ****, ISO ***** and ISO *****
experience working with human services quality frameworks, safeguarding, client-centred practice, outcomes measurement and continuous improvement
demonstrated experience leading complex organisational projects and transformation initiatives
highly developed analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
the ability to influence, coach and build capability at all levels of an organisation
a genuine commitment to child safety, cultural inclusion and creating safe and respectful workplaces.
