With continued growth and a strong focus on safety leadership, we are seeking a HR Operations Advisor to join our HR Team and provide trusted, practical HR support across our corporate and project environments.
About this role
Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, the HR Operations Advisor provides comprehensive HR advice, support and consultancy to managers and employees across both head office and site-based environments.
Partnering closely with leaders, employees and project teams, you will support the consistent and compliant delivery of recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, policy implementation and offboarding activities.
This is a varied, hands‐on role suited to an adaptable HR professional who can apply sound judgement and HR best practice across a diverse workforce - from corporate employees to project-based and FIFO/DIDO construction crews.
You will also assist with workplace relations matters, maintain accurate employee records and HR systems, support payroll and workforce reporting, and contribute to positive workplace culture, wellbeing and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role is primarily head office based and requires a willingness to travel to project sites and work within remote, site-based or FIFO/DIDO environments when required.
Key responsibilities
As an HR Operations Advisor, you will:
Provide practical,



timely HR advice and support to managers and employees across corporate and project environments
Guide leaders through performance management, goal setting, feedback, appraisals and employee development processes
Support recruitment activities, including advertising, screening, interviewing and selection
Coordinate employee onboarding, mobilisation, induction, offboarding and exit processes
Assist with employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, investigations and conflict resolution
Prepare formal HR correspondence and support fair, consistent and procedurally sound outcomes
Provide guidance on employment conditions, company policies, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Fair Work requirements
Support visa processing, right-to-work checks, pre-employment screening and workforce compliance
Maintain accurate employee records, contracts and data across HRIS and payroll systems
Support payroll processing by validating timesheets, allowances and employee entitlements
Prepare HR reporting, including headcount, turnover, workforce movements and training compliance
Coordinate project-specific training, licences, qualifications, inductions and certifications
Support site leaders with workforce matters, union engagement protocols and project industrial relations strategies when required
Promote employee engagement, wellbeing and a positive workplace culture in collaboration with project and HSE teams
Identify opportunities to improve HR systems, processes, service delivery and operational efficiency




Experience and qualifications
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or an equivalent qualification
Experience in an HR advisory or coordination role, ideally within construction, mining, oil and gas, infrastructure or another project-based sector
Solid working knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial instruments and workplace relations practices
Experience supporting both blue‐collar and white‐collar employees across multi‐site operations
Desirable
Experience in remote, site-based or FIFO/DIDO environments
Exposure to payroll systems, workforce reporting and HR data analytics
Experience supporting visa applications, project industrial relations or union interactions
This role will suit a commercially minded HR qualified who builds trusted relationships, communicates confidently and can balance day‐to‐day operational delivery with sound advisory support in a fast‐paced project environment.
