An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Retail Group Operations Manager to join one of Australia's most unique and purpose-driven retail organisations based in Darwin.

Reporting directly to the GM Retail, this role will oversee a network of Area Managers across NT & QLD with a strong focus on leadership development, operational performance, commercial outcomes and continuous improvement across a large multi-site retail portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with genuine long-term growth potential. The previous leader in this position has recently been promoted internally into the GM Retail role.

About the Role
n
This is a high-impact leadership role where no two days look the same.
n
You'll work closely with Area Managers and operational teams to drive:
n

Commercial performance and operational consistency
n
Leadership coaching and team development
n
Budgeting, forecasting and P&L; performance
n
Process improvement and operational efficiencies
n
Community and stakeholder engagement
n
Workforce planning and succession development
n
Retail standards and compliance across multiple sites
n
n
The role is based in Darwin and includes regular travel to remote communities across the Northern Territory and Queensland.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading and coaching a team of Area Managers
n
Supporting operational strategy alongside the GM Retail
n
Driving sales,



cost control and overall store performance
n
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
n
Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
n
Developing leadership capability across the retail network
n
Supporting budgeting and financial planning processes
n
Driving a positive and people-focused leadership culture
n

What You'll Bring

Senior multi-site retail leadership experience
n
Strong supermarket, grocery or large-format retail operations background
n
Experience leading leaders across dispersed locations
n
High commercial and financial acumen
n
Strong budgeting, reporting and operational analysis capability

A hands-on and adaptable leadership style

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

The ability to balance accountability with empathy and people leadership
