Courtside Melbourne
Melbourne
At Courtside, we're not just a retail store — we're the Disneyland for basketballers!
Courtside is where basketball culture comes alive. We exist for hoopers, sneakerheads and fans who live and breathe the game.
The Role
The Planner at Courtside runs the Open-to-Buy (OTB), assortment planning, and omni-channel stock allocation. Operating with autonomy, this role translates fast-moving trade trends and shifting Footwear receipts into profitable inventory actions. Sitting at the intersection of buying and operations, you will navigate an ambiguous, high-growth workplace to maximise sell-through, protect margin, and optimise stock health.
Reporting to the Head of Merchandise/Commercial, you will be a key driver of inventory performance across retail and eCommerce channels.
What You'll Do
Monitor and update financial budgets, inventory levels, and product receipts on a weekly and monthly basis
Reconcile the OTB by category and brand, proactively managing risk and opportunity
Pivot seasonal category and brand financial structures dynamically as product availability and unit numbers shift
Partner with the Head of Merchandising & Commercial on seasonal financial planning, re-forecasting and risk/opportunity reporting
Assortment Planning
Build style, colour and size-curve level assortment plans in partnership with the Buying team
Own and evolve assortment tracking tools, ensuring accuracy of cost/retail pricing and delivery phasing
Conduct size-gap and size-curve analysis to inform future buys and in-season top-ups
Manage allocation of new deliveries and replenishment in line with sales trend, stock health and available space
Set and adjust replenishment parameters (min/max, pack sizes) to maintain optimal availability
Trade & Sell-Through Analysis
Contribute to weekly trade reporting across Footwear, Apparel and Accessories
Analyse sell-through by style, brand and category, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations
Monitor aged or at-risk inventory and propose markdown, transfer or clearance actions

What we're looking for:
2–5 years' experience in a Planning, Allocation, Buying or OTB-focused role, ideally in footwear retail
Demonstrated experience building and managing an OTB
Advanced Excel skills — pivot tables, lookups, style-level rollups and data modelling essential
Agile problem solver who thrives in a fluid environment where allocations change frequently, and is comfortable building paths forward when clean data or structured processes are absent
Autonomous operator — self-directed and confident making high-stakes inventory decisions without requiring layer-by-layer approval
Footwear/streetwear savvy, with an understanding of footwear complexities such as fractional sizing, strict drop dates, launch-product management, and size-curve optimisation
Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Retail Management or related field preferred but not essential
Why Courtside?
Be part of a fast-growing, culture-first brand at the centre of basketball and sneaker culture in Melbourne
Real autonomy and ownership over a critical commercial function
Work alongside a team that lives and breathes the game
