Job Description
A well-established, ASX-listed national operator is looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their payroll team on a temporary basis. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you'll work alongside a team of Payroll Officers, supporting the accurate, on-time delivery of a high-volume weekly pay-run for a workforce of 21,000+ employees.

About the role

Processing weekly payroll accurately and on time, in line with approved procedures and legislative requirements
n
Supporting period-end and statutory obligations, including superannuation, payroll tax and STP reporting
n
Interpreting and applying Modern Awards and enterprise agreements correctly across a large, multi-site workforce
n
Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee payroll queries
n




Assisting with reconciliations and providing extra support during peak processing periods
n
Working closely with People, Finance and IT as needed

About you
n
n
Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar, ideally in a high-volume, weekly pay-cycle environment
n
Robust working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and statutory requirements (PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax)
n
Comfortable working with payroll and HRIS systems
n
High attention to detail, with the ability to work to tight, recurring deadlines
