We're looking for a Payroll & HR Administration Officer to join an established Australian business in the manufacturing sector. This is a hands‐on role combining end‐to‐end payroll, HR administration and HRIS responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys payroll but is looking to further develop their broader People & Culture capability.
About the Role
Reporting into the People & Culture function, you will be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, while also supporting key HR administration and employee lifecycle activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing end‐to‐end fortnightly Australian payroll
Managing timesheets, payroll adjustments, deductions, bonuses and remuneration changes
Payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover and STP requirements
Payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting
Administering salary packaging and novated leases
Responding to employee payroll queries and resolving issues
Supporting annual remuneration reviews and payroll compliance
Interpreting awards and ensuring compliance with Fair Work requirements
Maintaining accurate employee records and HRIS data




Managing onboarding, offboarding, employment contracts and variations
Supporting HRIS administration and process improvements
Working closely with People & Culture and Finance to ensure data accuracy and smooth payroll processes
About You
We're looking for someone with:
Approx 3 years' experience in payroll, ideally covering Australian multi‐state payroll
Strong experience with HRIS/payroll systems - experience with Kronos is highly regarded
Good understanding of Australian payroll legislation, payroll tax, WorkCover and superannuation
Experience with salary packaging and novated leases
Understanding of awards and Fair Work compliance
Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and formulas
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Strong organisational and time‐management skills
Excellent communication and problem‐solving skills
The ability to manage confidential information and competing priorities
Experience working within a manufacturing, operational or multi‐site environment will be highly regarded.
