We are seeking a motivated and hands-on person to join our joinery manufacturing team as a Factory Leading Hand / Assistant Factory Foreperson.
This role is ideal for an experienced cabinet maker looking to step into a leadership position, as well as someone with a basic understanding of cabinet making who is eager to develop their skills. You will work alongside our Factory Foreman to keep the workshop running smoothly, support the team and help ensure our joinery is produced to a high standard.
In-house training and ongoing support will be provided to the right person.
About the Role
You will assist with the daily operation of our joinery workshop, helping manage production, support factory staff and maintain quality across our projects.
What You'll Be Doing
Assist the Factory Foreman with the daily running of the workshop
Help organise production tasks and keep jobs moving to schedule
Support and supervise factory staff and apprentices
Work hands-on in the workshop when needed
Assist with training and developing junior team members
Check joinery for quality and identify any issues during production
Inspect completed work before it leaves the factory
Help maintain an organised, clean and productive work workplace
Ensure tools, machinery and equipment are used correctly and safely
Assist with stock, materials and factory organisation
Communicate production or equipment issues to the Factory Foreman
Follow workplace health and safety procedures




What We're Looking For
Experience in cabinet making, joinery or a similar manufacturing environment
Trade qualification or relevant practical experience is desirable
An understanding of cabinet making and workshop processes
Ability to read and understand drawings and plans
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
A practical approach to problem-solving
Ability to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines
Current Driver's Licence
Less experienced applicants are encouraged to apply. If you have some cabinet making knowledge, a willingness to learn and the motivation to take on more responsibility, we are happy to provide training and guidance.
