About the role n
The Mater Private Hospital Mackay Perioperative Department is searching for an experienced, enthusiastic and energetic
Assistant in Nursing
to work within our
Centralised Sterile Services Department (CSSD)
on a
permanent part-time 32 hours per week
basis. Flexibility is required as you will be required to work a range of shifts Monday to Saturday plus participate in the on‐call roster.

Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation

What you'll be doing n
You will support the theatre and CSSD team in activities that ensure the provision of a safe and efficient sterilising service. You will also participate in hospital quality management systems in the unit to ensure a continuous improvement focus. Your enthusiasm and skills will see you seamlessly integrate into this outstanding team, assisting to provide an exceptional level of care and to hit‐the‐ground‐running.

Decontamination & Assembly: Manual and automated cleaning, inspection, and packing of surgical trays and specialised equipment's
n
System Tracking: Accurate documentation and data entry using electronic tracking systems (T-Doc) to manage the instrument lifecycle
n
Sterilisation: Operating autoclaves and monitoring sterilisation cycles in line with Best Practice
n
Specialised Processing:



Handling loan set processing and endoscope reprocessing (desirable)
n
Quality & Safety: Engaging with Risk Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, and WHS systems
n
