At Alpine Nurseries, we are looking for an energetic, motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our Production Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a trade, gain a nationally recognised qualification and build a long-term career in the horticulture industry.

What you'll be doing
n
As a Production Nursery Apprentice, you will learn all aspects of growing and caring for plants while working alongside experienced horticulturists. You will complete a Certificate III in Production Nursery, combining TAFE study with practical, hands-on learning in the workplace.

You will gain experience in areas including:
n
Plant care and maintenance
n
Potting and production
n
Pruning and plant training
n
Pest and disease monitoring
n




Irrigation and watering
n
Weed control and plant presentation
n
Nursery machinery and equipment
n
Workplace health and safety
n
Who we're looking for
n
We are looking for someone who:
n
Enjoys being outdoors and working in an active environment
n
Has an interest in plants, green life, agriculture or the environment
n
Is energetic and enjoys physical, hands-on work
n
Is smart, curious and enjoys learning how things work
n
Prefers learning by doing rather than sitting behind a desk all day
n
Has a positive attitude and robust willingness to learn
n
Takes pride in their work and gives their best effort
n
Can work well as part of a team
n
Is reliable, motivated and keen to build a career
n
Is willing and able to attend TAFE as part of their apprenticeship
n
Can safely undertake the physical requirements of the role, including regular lifting, pushing and pulling
n
Holds a current driver's licence, or is working towards obtaining one
n
