Story Bridge Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and experienced
Assistant Managers
to join our management team on a
full-time basis
. Located in the vibrant Kangaroo Point precinct of Brisbane, this is an exciting opportunity to help lead a dynamic hospitality venue and contribute to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests and staff. As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring our high standards of service, hospitality, and profitability are consistently maintained across all areas of the hotel.
Key responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the hotel, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions
Manage and supervise staff scheduling, performance and development to ensure excellent customer service standards
Monitor and control costs, inventory and stock levels to optimise profitability
Ensure compliance with health, safety, licensing and hospitality industry regulations
Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, resolving issues to maintain guest satisfaction
Support the General Manager with strategic planning, budgeting and reporting
Maintain venue cleanliness, maintenance standards and health and safety protocols
Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless operations across accommodation, food and beverage, and events
Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members
Contribute to marketing initiatives and revenue-generating activities
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, hotels, bars, restaurants or a similar fast-paced environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop diverse teams
Excellent customer service orientation and proven ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and diplomacy
Solid understanding of hospitality operations,



including food and beverage service, accommodation management and event coordination
Proficiency in hospitality management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control and revenue management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and Food Safety certification, or willingness to obtain these qualifications
Problem-solving ability and a proactive, can-do attitude
Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential if you have substantial practical experience
