247 Auto Batteries & Roadside Assistance is looking for the
right person
to join our growing team.
We're a small family-run business built from the ground up. We take pride in our work, vehicles, customer service and the relationships we've built with our roadside, insurance and fleet providers.
This is a casual position with
genuine potential to progress into full-time employment
for the right applicant.
Roadside Assistance Technician
THE ROLE
We operate
24 hours, 7 days a week
, with a roster managing after-hours coverage. Applicants must be willing to work nights, weekends and after-hours when rostered.
If you cannot commit to after-hours work, this role will not be suitable.
When roadside is quiet, you may assist at our
Werribee workshop/depot
with mechanical work, stock management, cleaning and general workshop duties.
COMPANY VEHICLE
A fully equipped company ute is provided and can be taken home for
work use only
.
Vehicle presentation is extremely important. You represent our business every time you arrive at a job, so we expect a
clean ute, clean equipment and professional presentation.
Daily stock counts and accurate management of batteries, equipment and roadside stock are also required.
Applicants must be confident driving a manual vehicle, as our roadside utes are manual.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Previous roadside, automotive, mechanical, battery or auto electrical experience is highly regarded, but we're willing to train someone with the right attitude and basic skills.
You must be mechanically minded, reliable, trustworthy, presentable, confident working independently and great with customers.
Customer service is extremely important to us. You'll be dealing with stranded customers as well as insurance, fleet and roadside providers,



so professionalism and communication need to be at a high standard.
ROADSIDE WORK
Roadside assistance can be fast-paced and stressful. You may be working beside live traffic, on freeways or in other changing environments, so
situational awareness and safety are essential.
There will also be quieter periods, and you'll be expected to help around the depot when required.

Key Responsibilities
Battery testing and replacement
Battery jump-starts
Truck and 24V jump-starts
Truck battery testing and replacement
Flat tyre and spare wheel changes
Basic puncture repairs
Vehicle lockouts
Basic roadside mechanical repairs and fault finding
General breakdown assistance
Assisting customers on behalf of insurance and roadside assistance providers
Skill & Experience
Reliable and punctual
Mechanically minded
Willing to learn
Comfortable working independently
Presentable and skilled
Respectful and trustworthy
Good with customers
Able to communicate clearly
Able to manage stock and equipment responsibly
Willing to work after hours as part of a roster
