The Role
As an
Electrical Field Technician
you will play a critical role in carrying out electrical works as required by our Projects Department, relevant to all Aquatec pump stations and control systems.
Core responsibilities include electrical fit-off of Aquatec projects (both onsite and in-factory), conducting FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) on switchboards, installation of electrical components onsite, conducting SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), troubleshooting electrical issues and leading pre-commissioning and commissioning activities across various sites.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):




Carrying out electrical onsite works aligned with project schedules
Troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise
Conducting FAT/SAT and commissioning of Aquatec pump stations
Responding to faults and service issues as required by the Service Manager
Supervise and mentor apprentices or casual staff (when applicable)
Assisting Mechanical Technicians onsite when needed
Maintaining clear and accurate site documentation, test records and handover checklists
Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure timely completion of works in line with quality and compliance standards
About you
You will be a qualified and self-motivated licensed electrician with a strong safety focus and a commitment to delivering high quality outcomes in the field. Comfortable working autonomously, you take full ownership of your responsibilities while maintaining clear, professional communication with clients, site personnel and internal teams. To be successful, you will demonstrate:
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs;, electrical schematics and design plans
Working knowledge of instrumentation (Flow / Level / Pressure), VSDs, and soft starters
Industrial/commercial electrical experience including fault finding and system testing
Strong understanding of switchboard installation and electrical compliance
A proactive attitude and well-developed communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
Willingness to travel and work away from home as required
