About the role:

- Short term casual contract position based in Melbourne's western suburbs, starting as soon as possible.
- Hands-on role within a waste management facility involving routine processing and handling of chemical waste streams.
- Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm
- Candidates must be comfortable with manual handling, working in an operational environment and wearing a respirator.

About your duties:

- Handling and processing a variety of chemical materials, including routine treatment and repackaging activities
- Carrying out inspections, sampling, basic assessments and classification of materials
- Assisting with day-to-day operational tasks related to material handling, storage, transport and general site activities
- Preparing materials for dispatch and ensuring all documentation and safety requirements are met
- Supporting small-scale trials or evaluations to determine suitable processing or treatment methods
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders to support compliance with relevant standards and guidelines
- Using laboratory equipment to perform basic testing and maintain accurate records

About you:

- A degree in Chemistry or equivalent
- Experience working with hazardous or waste chemicals
- Background in wastewater treatment,



chemical fixation or stabilization processes
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping in regulated environments
- Solid understanding of chemical legislation, safe handling, storage and disposal practices
